MORAGA, Calif. – Saint Mary's Baseball clawed back one run at a time against UC Davis after falling behind early but came up short of a comeback in a 6-4 loss on Tuesday.
The Aggies formula for success has been the long ball, and they struck with a two-run homer in the second inning and a solo shot in the third to lead 3-0. That would not be the end of their rally in the third however, as a two-run double and an RBI groundout stretched their lead to 6-0.
The Gaels would stop the scoring there though for UCD, and slowly began to chip their way back.
